First week trial: trash can service and recycling only; no bin cleaning is included in the $20 trial week. The two cleaning appointments begin with your first $80 four week period. Dates are agreed in advance.

Each weekly recycling pickup includes up to two 18 gallon totes of accepted materials. Cardboard must be flattened and fit within that allowance. Larger loads require advance approval; Carter will quote any extra charge before collection. Carter confirms your collection day, accepted materials, and preparation instructions before service begins. Recycling collection is separate from city trash collection. Payment is arranged directly after confirmation.

What can go in your recycling?

Our household recycling list follows Orange County’s published recycling guidance. This service does not include everything accepted at county waste facilities: garbage, hazardous waste and electronics use separate disposal programs.

AcceptedExamples and preparation
Plastic bottles, jugs and tubsContainers labeled #1 through #5, such as water bottles, milk jugs, detergent bottles and food tubs. Empty and dry; attached caps may stay on. No containers that held hazardous chemicals.
Metal cansTin, aluminum and steel food or drink cans. Empty, rinse or wipe, and dry.
Glass bottles and jarsEmpty food and beverage bottles and jars. Remove lids and caps. No drinking glasses, ceramics, mirrors or window glass.
CardboardDry corrugated boxes, flattened to fit within your two tote allowance. No greasy or food soiled cardboard.
Paper and paperboardNewspapers, mail, magazines, catalogs, office paper, paper bags, cereal and shoe boxes, and drink boxes. Keep dry; no shredded paper or wrapping paper.
Milk and juice cartonsEmpty and dry cartons, as listed in Orange County’s household recycling FAQ.

Preparation: Put items loose in your container, never inside plastic bags. Empty and dry containers; a quick rinse or wipe is enough. Flatten cardboard and keep paper dry.

Not accepted in this pickup: plastic bags, wrap or film; foam or Styrofoam; food or liquids; dirty cardboard; paper plates, utensils or napkins; shredded paper; wrapping paper; colored party cups; cup lids, straws and stirrers; ceramics or glassware; scrap metal, cookware or tools; electronics, appliances or batteries; paint, chemicals or their containers; tires or propane tanks; yard waste; clothing; toys, hangers or buckets; hoses, cords or rope; diapers or other garbage.

About to-go cups: Orange County added empty paper cups, paper sleeves and clear plastic to-go cups to its curbside program in May 2026. Porter drop off acceptance for these additions has not yet been confirmed for Carter’s route. Please leave them out until Carter confirms they can be included; no sorting fee will be charged for these cups while that clarification is pending.

Please recycle responsibly.
A $5 sorting fee applies per pickup, not per item, when items on the prohibited list are included after you receive these guidelines. Carter will explain the issue before collecting the fee. Nonaccepted items stay with you for proper disposal. If an item’s status was unclear or Carter gave incorrect guidance, no sorting fee applies. Text Carter before collection if unsure.

Good neighbors deserve a thank you

Every referral.
Another free cleaning.

Every new household you refer earns you one free cleaning for one bin after they sign up and complete their first completed service. Refer three qualifying households? Earn three free cleanings. There’s no limit on referrals.

New households must be within Carter’s service area. One referral credit per new household. No limit on qualifying referrals; earned cleanings are scheduled separately. Ask your neighbor to include your name when requesting service. Carter confirms eligibility and schedules your free cleaning after their first completed service.

Here’s the routine

You’ve got better things to do.

01

Choose your service

Request recycling, trash can service, the Complete Package or a standalone cleaning. Carter confirms your address, price and schedule before starting.

02

Get ready for collection

Recycling is collected weekly on the day agreed with Carter, up to two 18 gallon totes. For trash can service, cans go out Monday and Thursday evenings and return after Tuesday and Friday collection.

03

Leave the trip to Carter

Collected recyclables go to the county drop off. Complete Package customers also receive one bin cleaning on two separate dates in each four week payment period, agreed in advance.

Meet your neighbor

Hi, I’m Carter.

A local student building a neighborhood business, one pickup at a time.

I’m a local high school student starting my own business in the Winter Garden area. I started Carter’s Curbside to earn money toward my first car while helping my neighbors with weekly recycling pickup, trash can placement and return, and scheduled bin cleaning.

Thanks for considering my business. You can text me directly with questions before deciding whether the service is a good fit for your home.

Clear expectations

Simple service policies.

Pause or cancel by text

No long term contract or cancellation fee. Text at least 24 hours before the agreed visit to pause or cancel that service. A prepaid skipped visit is credited to a future visit; if you cancel entirely, unused prepaid service is refunded within seven calendar days. Completed work and already delivered cleanings are deducted fairly by service provided.

If Carter misses a visit

Tell Carter as soon as possible. He will arrange a makeup visit at a time you agree to, or credit the missed portion of service. If you prefer not to continue, that undelivered portion is refunded within seven calendar days. Cleaning appointments can be rescheduled without losing a visit.

Access, weather and holidays

Have materials ready at the agreed time and location. If access is blocked or recycling is not ready, text Carter; a return visit is subject to availability and any additional charge must be agreed first. A visit missed because materials were not ready or access was blocked is not automatically credited. Weather, holidays or city delays may change a schedule; Carter will text to arrange the change. An undelivered service receives a makeup visit, credit or refund.

Payments are arranged directly, not automatically charged. Four week payment periods are not calendar months. Credits and refunds cover only the affected portion of a package; there is no double charge or double credit. Carter reviews the schedule and these policies with you before service begins.

Good to know

A few quick answers.

Does the price include bringing the cans back?

Yes. Both the $3 single pickup day and $5 weekly service include taking the cans out and bringing them back after collection.

Can I sign up if I’m outside the neighborhood?

Send Carter your address first. Service depends on whether your home fits his current neighborhood route.

How does the referral reward work?

Have your neighbor enter your name in the optional referral field. If their new household is within the service area and completes their first completed service, you earn one free cleaning for one bin. Each new household can count toward one referral credit, with no limit on qualifying referrals. Three qualifying households earn three free cleanings. Carter tracks eligibility and schedules earned cleanings separately.

Can I book recycling pickup now?

Yes. Recycling collection is $10 per week, or choose both trash can service and recycling for $15 per week. Each weekly pickup includes up to two 18 gallon totes, including flattened cardboard. Larger loads need advance approval and may cost extra; Carter confirms the price before collection. Carter confirms your address, collection day, accepted materials, and preparation instructions before service starts.

How much recycling is included?

All plans that include recycling cover up to two 18 gallon totes per household per weekly pickup. Cardboard must be flattened and fit within that allowance. Larger loads require advance approval and may cost extra. Carter will quote any additional charge before collection.

Is there a fee for nonaccepted recycling items?

A $5 sorting fee applies per pickup when clearly prohibited items are included after you receive the recycling guidelines. It is not charged per item. Carter explains the issue first; no fee applies if guidance was unclear or incorrect. Nonaccepted items are left with you. See the accepted materials and preparation guide above.

What does the $20 weekly complete package include?

The Complete Package is $20/week: trash cans out and back, weekly recycling up to two 18 gallon totes, and one bin cleaned on two separate dates per four week period. The $20 first week trial covers trash can service and recycling only, with no cleaning included. Cleaning appointments start in your first $80 four week period and are agreed in advance. This is not two bins cleaned at a single visit.

How do I pay?

Pay for your first week, then every four weeks: $20 trash can service, $40 recycling, $60 both, or $80 for the Complete Package. First week prices are $5, $10, $15 and $20 respectively. The Complete Package trial has no cleaning; one bin is cleaned on two separate dates starting with the first $80 four week period. Standalone cleaning remains $15 per bin. Payment is arranged directly; there is no automatic charge. See the service policies for pauses, cancellations, credits and refunds.

What about holidays or schedule changes?

Carter will text to arrange changes for weather, holidays or city collection delays. If a service cannot be delivered, you receive a makeup visit, credit or refund for that portion. Text at least 24 hours ahead to request a pause. See the service policies above for details.
